About TOCO MADERA

A Latvian birch specialist, built for European industry

SIA TOCO MADERA is a wood-processing company based in Liepāja, Latvia, specialising in solid birch materials for the European market. Our core products are birch frame-grade, face-frame and custom-specification components produced to order.

Drying and planing happen in our own facility. That's how we hold stable quality, controlled moisture and flexible order execution — batch after batch.

We continuously invest in new machinery, tighter quality control and more precise processing technologies. Planned capacity reaches up to 700 m³ of birch frame-grade material per month, and we focus on long-term partnerships with furniture manufacturers, timber importers and distributors across Europe.

Product grades

Six grades. One consistent standard.

Every board is inspected by hand after kiln-drying and sorted strictly to the same rules. From premium A/A to industrial C/C — plus Frame Grade cut to your specification — you get exactly what the sample shows, across the full order.

Material

Why birch — and why Latvian birch in particular

Latvian birch (Betula pendula) grows slowly in cold northern forests. Short summers and long winters give the wood tight, uniform annual rings — the reason a Baltic birch board is denser, more stable and finer-grained than birch grown further south.

This is the same species behind legendary Baltic birch plywood. In solid form it machines cleanly, glues reliably, holds screws and finger-joints under load, and takes stain, oil and lacquer without blotching.

Face-frame moisture

  • Fine, even grain with minimal color variation
  • Excellent strength-to-weight, high screw-holding
  • Machines, glues, stains and finishes predictably
  • Dimensionally stable after controlled kiln-drying
  • Sustainably harvested from managed Latvian forests

Products & capabilities

What we produce, how we control it

Drying, planing and grading are all in-house. That is what lets us hold tight tolerances and match the moisture level to how the material will actually be used downstream.

FSC certified

FSC-certified birch products from legally harvested, sustainably managed Latvian forests. Documentation on request.

Two moisture programs

Frame-grade dried to 16% ±2% for structural frame stock. Face-frame dried to 8% ±2% for interior furniture components.

Standard tolerance 0/+3 mm

Reliable dimensional consistency across the full pack — the default for frame-grade production runs.

High-precision to 0/+0.3 mm

For components that go straight into assembly. Tightened planing and quality control on request.

Custom components

Cut to your dimensions, lengths and profiles. Fixed lengths, mixed packs, planed and ready-to-use blanks.

Ready stock

A/A, A/B and frame-grade sections regularly available from stock for immediate dispatch across the EU.
